- If you enjoyed spiralling away hours with Spirograph(tm) as a kid, you
- won't be able to resist this computerized version of the famous drawing
- game! And with CYCLOID, you won't have to worry about your pen slipping
- at the last minute and ruining your artistic efforts!
-
- At first CYCLOID is a little more difficult to use than the actual game
- since the effect of the "disks" and "rings" can be tough to visualize.
- But after some experimentation anyone can become a pro at creating the
- telltale spirograph spirals. CYCLOID is very versatile; it permits
- adjustment of image size and shape, and has the ability to rotate an
- existing drawing or even create nested spirographs.
-
- Images can be saved and reloaded for later display and there is a more
- limited version of the program for those of us more artistically inept.
- Great fun for the young, or bored, computer user.
- Program Title: Solisquare
- Author Version: 1.0
- Author Registration: $9.95
- Special Requirements: EGA.
-
- SOLISQUARE is a simple game of solitaire adapted from a certain card
- game. In SOLISQUARE, the screen is covered with squares of different
- colors. The object of the game is to remove all the squares by picking
- up pairs of squares that are next to each other horizontally,
- vertically, or diagonally.
-
- Use the arrow keys (NumLock must be on) to move to any square that is
- next to another square of the same color. Then hit the "5" key to remove
- that pair of squares. When you do, all the remaining squares on the
- screen will slide left as far as they can, and then up as far as they
- can. Then the two spaces at the lower right corner will be filled in
- with two new colored squares as long as there are cards remaining in the
- "deck." If the square you choose is next to two or more squares of its
- own color, you will be asked to choose which one you want to remove.
- Just hit the number pad arrow key that points in the right direction.
-
- In the standard game, the layout uses 15 colors laid out in 6 columns
- and 5 rows. The deck holds eight squares of each color, for a perfect
- score of 120 if you are able to remove all the squares. If you wish,
- you can choose different parameters. the program will ask you how many
- colors, columns, rows, and squares of each color you wish to use. (If
- you would like to play the game exactly like the original card game it
- was based on, choose 13 colors, 5 columns, 4 rows, and 4 of each color).
- The number of squares of each color must be an even number, obviously,
- or it will be impossible to win the game. Note that if you choose 0 of
- each color, the game will give an unlimited number of squares.
